A perfect way to celebrate a marriage is to have a lilac and yellow wedding party. Most of the other themes out there are pretty expensive and hard to do. Take for example, the fairytale theme, which takes a lot of time to prepare and requires a lot of colours in decorations resulting in a cluttered look. That’s why it’s a good thing that you thought about using lilac and yellow since these colours are pretty simple to use as your motif. And that’s what you’re trying to achieve with this theme: simplicity and class.

Versatility is one benefit from this theme. Combining yellow with light colours like cobalt blue and light purple achieves a sophisticated and educated look. On the other hand, using darker colours would attain a classy vintage feel. In the end it really depends on your taste.

Speaking of taste, what better way to highlight your good taste in colours than on your attire? A yellow dress with ruffles would look absolutely stunning. It would magically take you to another time, specifically, the eighties. It will have the flower girls dreaming of a lilac and yellow wedding party of their own in the future. And that’s the magic of yellow. It makes things look classy.

You have two options when it comes to the cake. It’s either you go for a yellow cake or a lavender one. I think though, a four tier lavender cake would be your best bet.

You can also have lemon herb chicken for the entrée coupled with long island ice tea for refreshments. To add an unusual but quirky side to a lilac and yellow wedding party you can always serve corn cobs wrapped with lilac impressed tissue. And if that doesn’t appease their pallets then you can bring in the heavy artillery. And by heavy artillery I mean crabs. The red of the crabs subtly bring out the yellows and the purples of your theme. These are just a few examples on several ways you can present the dishes.

With the decorations however you’re not limited to stick with the main themes. A touch of other colours here and there can go a long way in making a difference to your presentation. Why not have a bouquet of roses with the colours of orange, pink, and white. Mix in some sunflowers and lilacs and you’ll have a truly unique lilac and yellow wedding party.

As for the centrepiece you can have a big lavender candle set atop an elegant light yellow tablecloth. Bronze utensils can be used to give it that pizzazz. And to top it all off, you can strategically place a group of yellow and purple butterflies around the vicinity. There is nothing like a group of butterflies to make a lilac and yellow wedding party complete.

Truly, a lilac and yellow wedding party has that unique way of turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. And it does this with little effort involved. Whether you’re planning a wedding party or a bridal shower, a lilac and yellow theme help make that plan a reality.
